One year ago this weekend, I decided to dive into Young Living Essential Oils.   I had been considering a purchase of a Premium Starter Kit before, but hadn’t quite made up my mind if it was worth it to spend the extra money or not. We have always been on a tight budget.  I had purchased several essential oils before, but I had only bought them at the health food store or on discount sites.  At the time, I really wasn’t sure if it was worth spending a little bit extra on essential oils when you could buy them for cheaper prices elsewhere.

Everyday Essential Oil: Purification

Purification is an essential oil blend of Citronella, lemongrass, rosemary, Melaleuca, Lavindin, and Myrtle.  Purification is fantastic to have in your home for a whole host of reasons.

Uses of Purification:

• Bug Repellent – Fantastic for camping, hiking, or just being outside on warm summer nights with the need to keep the bugs away.  Apply “neat” or directly to he skin around common places that bugs like to chomp like the ankles or other places.  Or, apply a few drops mixed with a carrier oil to areas exposed to bugs.  This is a fantastic alternative to a bug repellents have so many toxic chemicals!
• Purify the air – If you are anywhere where cigarette smoke or disagreeable odors lurk (can someone say public bathroom?) You can carry purification with you to purify the air around you.  Simply add a few drops to your hands and breathe in the scent, or add a few drops to a diffuser necklace so that it can purify the air anywhere you go.
• Get rid of non-cystic acne – Apply purification topically along with a carrier oil to the blemished areas to soothe the skin and heal blemishes.
• Supports Immune Health – This blend has immune supporting properties that can help keep the body healthy.
• Neutralizes Mildew – Diffuse throughout the room in order to get rid of nasty mildew.
• Carpet Cleaner – Add 5-6 drops of purification to baking soda and mix well.  Then sprinkle on your carpet and vacuum up!  This fantastic essential oil is helping in keeping carpets fresh and clean.
• Help to Dissipate Sugar Cravings – Diffuse purification throughout the air to help dissipate sugar cravings.
• Deodorant – Add a few drops to a small bit of coconut oil and use it as a deodorant! It may be the best deodorant you have ever used!
